There's a book exchange in the waiting area on platform 2. Pick up a book have a read and put it back when you've finished. Perhaps even donate one for others?

I was stuck on the opposite platform for about 10min in which time my train arrived and left! I had 2 connections to make, both of which I missed: eventually got to Notts 2 hours late!

If you're travelling to London, make sure that you arrive at least 20minutes before the train is due : the lifts to platform 2 are painfully slow!

Platform 1 is closer to the ticket office so try to get your train to there
