The memorial to Ulysses S. Grant was dedicated in 1922. It is located in Union Square, west of the U.S. Capitol Building, by the Capitol Reflecting Pool. The bronze elements were restored in 2016.

Grant statue is 17 ft tall (on 20 ft pedestal). The sculptor, Henry M. Shrady, used his face in the cavalry statue. He died 2 weeks prior to the statue’s dedication in 1922. See video for more info
